The CH-RVM72S-79 is a 7” LCD monitor with split-screen display capability allowing 2 video streams to be displayed simultaneously and comes with a bracket to replace the original mirror in a Toyota 70 Series.

The bracket allows direct replacement of the mirror and is well suited for use in mining vehicles where a larger screen is preferred as well as for domestic vehicles used for towing caravans or where a canopy obstructs the rear view from the standard mirror.

By mounting in the normal mirror location, where most drivers will glance to check rear traffic, this monitor becomes an eMirror, where a rear camera is streaming video constantly and can be almost the same as normal mirror vision (depending on the camera being used) and will feel completely natural to most drivers.
The CH-RVM72S has 2 standard AV inputs to suit caravan and commercial type cameras with 4 pin connections and has a “trigger” input to suit a reversing camera if required which activates V2. If using a reverse camera with RCA video connection, please order the CH-FRCAS RCA Female to 4 Pin adaptor.
Manual operation using the touch buttons on the screen allow the user to turn the monitor on and off and switch between split screen displays or V1 and V2 as required.
If only used with a reverse camera, there is a version with silver screen which can be left in place and used as a normal mirror and the LCD will turn on only when in reverse gear.
Please note that this version is more susceptible to glare and is not suitable unless the vehicle has tinted glass, model number CH-RVMAHD72S is with the silver glass.
For use on trade bodies and utility canopies the monitor will be left on continually with power from an accessory circuit or RunSwitch so that when the vehicle starts, the monitor turns on immediately with a rear view camera providing constant vision as an e-mirror.

The recommended cameras for use with the CH-RVM72S are the Hybrid series as these have 1080P AHD video as the default and work very well with this monitor.
Most AHD cameras will be suitable and any CVBS camera will also be suitable although the camera image quality cannot be guaranteed due to the lower resolution of this video signal.
Where using this for constant rear view vision where the aim is to see traffic that is further behind than 5-10 metres it is recommended to use a 50 or 60 degree lens camera to provide better vision of the traffic behind.
The Hybrid series has several camera options with narrower lens to provide this and other cameras with 1080P HD video are also available.
All camera connections can be made using standard Chipatronic extension cables and caravan cabling systems with accessories to suit most installations.
