4 to 5 Pin Caravan Cable Adaptor Kit

The CH-4-5PCK is a 4 Pin to 5 Pin Trailer Plug conversion kit used where a standard extension cable has been run through a caravan for the camera but a full, heavy duty trailer connection system is now preferred.

Many caravans are sold with a basic camera fitted and a standard extension cable with small connectors is used through the caravan and also the car but this leaves cable tails hanging when disconnected potentially ending up damaged or with water and dirt getting into the contacts.

Chipatronic caravan camera cables use the robust Aopulo type 5 pin metal socket with weatherproof cover and is used in conjunction with a spring style “curly cable” that provides a heavy duty flexible connection between the car and caravan or trailer which is removed when not in use to leave the metal cover closed, preventing ingress of dust and water under most conditions and there are no connectors hanging on cables to get damaged or dirty.

The CH-4-5PCK includes the car side socket with female tail, caravan side socket with male tail, 2 stainless steel mounting brackets for the sockets and the curly cable to connect these when towing.
The standard curly cable is a heavy duty type but a light duty version is also available where suitable.

To suit different setups there are 2 lengths of the CCB; standard is approximately 600mm when coiled and no tension and this suits most car-van arrangements where the socket on the van is mounted a short distance from the hitch, typically 200-300mm.
A special short curly cable is available for applications such as 5th Wheelers where a short cable is better as the longer cable is too loose.

The caravan socket has a male 4 pin connector to suit standard caravan cameras and can be used with Chipatronic dual cameras with the correct fittings, CH-5PM4M.

The car socket must have the matching system and car camera cables have the same 5 pin metal socket as the caravan but the the cable is the reverse so the 4 pin connector suits a cable connected to the monitor, CH-5PM4F.

To mount the socket the CH-MB mounting bracket is used and our brackets are manufactured locally from high quality stainless steel. Please note that the bracket must fit behind the flange and the backshell of the connector may need to be loosened off, please see CH-MB for further details.
