RunSwitch is a unique product designed to assist in the installation of electrical accessories in cars but also suits most 12V automotive applications including; motorcycles, ATV/Quad bikes, trucks (12V system only), construction machinery and static systems such as engine powered generators.
Just like the RunSwitch the RunSwitch Plus connects to constant power (battery or a circuit connected directly to the battery) and when the engine starts a separate 12V supply is switched on to provide an accessory circuit for the connection of accessories but in addition has Timer Mode which has a programmable (1 – 90 minutes) delay before shutting down the accessory power feed. This can be used for accessories which you want to keep running after the engine has stopped but without leaving all the other functions that normally remain on with the ignition switch in the on position.
In addition RunSwitch Plus also includes a Battery Saver Mode which monitors the car’s battery voltage so that if it drops to (approximately) 11.5V it will cut out to save the battery so there is still enough power to start the engine again. In this mode accessories can continue to run indefinitely as long as the battery voltage remains sufficient and is particularly useful for aftermarket stereo equipment which has a higher power requirement, accessory lighting, DVR systems etc..
Programming is done using a push button with an LED flashing to confirm the status, clear instructions are provided.
The device includes a 7.5A fuse for protection and if higher current is required, a relay can be added..
This is especially relevant to modern cars with CanBUS systems where accessory power is not always easily available and tapping into an existing circuit is not always possible or advisable.
RunSwitch and RunSwitch Plus suits any engine powered system with 12V electrical including; cars & 4WD, motorcycles, ATV/Quadbikes, construction machinery, trucks with 12V electrics and static machines such as generators.
The RunSwich is not a VSR but senses electrical signals on the system when the engine is running and will shut power off when the engine stops.
