The next generation of automotive cameras is now available from Chipatronic with our range of AHD cameras and the unique Hybrid Camera System providing improved image quality and versatility over traditional cameras.
While these cameras may look the same on the outside, internally they are quite different with new technology for improved performance.

AHD (Analogue High Definition) video provides much higher camera resolution than traditional cameras, typically with 1280 x 960 pixels for a 1,2MP output.
Compared to to many automotive cameras currently sold (480TVL) this is 400% higher and coupled with the better signal performance of AHD image quality is vastly improved.

Hybrid cameras combine traditional Composite Video (CVBS) with AHD video and the cameras are able to be programmed to suit the installation individually.
Video mode can be switched from CVBS to AHD and the format switched from PAL to NTSC whereas in the past this required a completely different camera manufactured to suit.

Even in CVBS mode our hybrid cameras provide 700TVL output with 976 x 582 pixels which is considered high resolution for standard CVBS.

To use AHD video you will need to ensure that the monitor is also AHD compatible and Chipatronic supply a range of monitors with dual AHD - CVBS capability so regardless of what camera is connected they will be displayed correctly.
All cameras and monitors use industry standard cables with 4 Pin Aviation Connectors which enables upgrading to hybrid technology without having to change the entire system.
